The clients who bought this house bravely undertook a full renovation of this small Victorian end of terrace house which backs onto a public park in Dublin.

They were fortunate that being the end of terrace house, they had a bit of extra space which allowed us to create a wrap around extension which would not only extend to the rear but also to the side. The result is that the external appearance from the street belies the large living space which is encountered once you pass the front door.

In addition to maintaining the historic feel of the original house by retaining the original stairs and reinstating timber sash windows to the front facade, the design aimed to maximise natural light and a feeling of space while providing generous open plan kitchen, dining and living space as well as a bright contemporary bathroom.
