The existing house was suffering from a lack of natural light and a lack of space. It had no real entrance and was disconnected from its large garden.

The design called for a new single storey build to sit next to the existing two storey house, joined by a large linear rooflight to bring light down into the center of the floor plan. The space between the two buildings then forms a formal entrance hallway which is generously lit by the glazed front door and large linear rooflight above.

The new open plan kitchen and living space connects to the garden via its large triple sliding glass doors. The whole house can also be opened up to be fully open plan using the large internal sliding doors, or the can be closed to provide separate living spaces as needs be. The ultimate party house!
