The clients for this project already had an extension attached to the rear of their 3 bedroom semi-detached home. However it was poorly built, lacked natural light and had little connection to the rear garden.

The rear garden was small, yet perfectly formed, with a Western aspect, and contained an outdoor train set.

​

The design sought to create a bright new kitchen using large amounts of glazing and a rooflight which would maximise direct access to the garden via large bi-folding doors and increase the aspect looking out to the garden giving both a connection to it and making it appear larger than it actually is.
