This was a major renovation of a 1970's bungalow. The existing bungalow is T shaped in plan with the top part of the T facing the road and the long part stretching out to the rear garden.

The house had previously had an attic conversion, however, it was restricted by the existing ridge height which resulted in low ceiling heights upstairs.

 

By removing the original pitched roof beyond the front slope of the house, we were able to re-shape the rear of the house creating two generous floors of accommodation with standard ceiling heights.

The rear of the house was lowered to accommodate much higher ceilings in the rear kitchen at 1st floor and the rear living room at 1st floor level.
